How a Sales Engineer uses the mobile app for sales on-the-go

Posted May 12, 2025

Ross McClellon highlights the importance of the mobile app in his daily activities as a sales professional. He explains how the app simplifies tasks during travel, allowing users to manage calls and emails directly from their phones.

The app features automatic logging of calls to Salesforce, making it easier for users to keep track of their interactions without manual updates. Additionally, it provides quick access to account information and profiles, enhancing context for meetings. Ross expresses his enthusiasm for the app and encourages others to try it.

Ready to sell from anywhere?

Whether you're on-site, in transit, or at a conference, Outreach’s mobile app keeps you productive and connected.

Staying Connected on-the-go

Hey y'all, I'm Ross with Outreach here. Senior Sales Engineer with Outreach. Wanted to walk you guys through how I use the mobile app in my day-to-day life.

As a sales team—anyone that's customer facing—you know the drill, right? It's conferences, it's onsite with customers, it's on the road, or just even general traveling. The new Outreach application for your mobile phone makes life much easier.

Managing Tasks Anywhere, Anytime

The way I love to use this is right from my phone now, I've got a layout of all my activities, right?
If it's from a sequence, if it's a one-off, it's an automation, a trigger, whatever it is, right? I understand exactly who I need to call, the emails I need to send, and then right from here I can just pop in, as I'm on the go, on the beautiful Puget Sound behind me here.

If I gotta give Che a call here—two clicks, I'm off to the races. Slide to give him a call, I can record this call, it's gonna log back to Salesforce or CRM for me right away. I don't have to worry about updating my manager about, “yes, I did make the call, yes, I did actually send the email”—everything's gonna log for me right away.

Quick Access to Account Insights

On top of that, I can put in the call purpose, the notes, the dispositions, you know, all the classic Outreach. But on top of that, I don't know about anybody else out there—if you’ve ever been at a conference, or you're onsite with a customer, you're looking at an account, and you kinda remember who you're talking to, the names are a little bit hazy...

One of my favorite features is right from here, I can pull up a list of my accounts. I've got this favorited, I'm good to go. And if I'm meeting with AKG, and maybe there's that one prospect—you kinda remember, but you don't really remember, right? I can come in here, I can see what their job title is, the last time we talked to them, if they're in a sequence or not, I can see the account profile.

Really just streamlines all the research you need to do while you're on the road—but in the palm of your hand. Guys, can't wait for all of you out there to get a chance to check this out, learn more about it. Really appreciate your time today, thanks.
