The Outreach platform REST API was just expanded to enable more powerful integrations

Posted July 12, 2016

Introduction

Today, we're excited to announce that we have opened up our Platform API to customers and partners to build incredibly robust integrations for a variety of use cases.

Earlier this year, we developed our Platform API to enable data providers such as Datanyze and DiscoverOrg to integrate into Outreach to allow our shared customers to push records into Outreach, and directly into Sequences.

This scenario enabled our customers to use robust data sets to kick off intelligent communication workflows, that saved users a lot of time, and helped get the right accounts into the right playbooks.

Today, we have opened up many more endpoints to allow our customers to connect their Outreach account with more service providers, including business intelligence services such as Tableau, DOMO, RJmetrics, and more.

The Outreach REST API contains two components, the first being the authorization layer, and the second being the platform server. To get access, simply request an application ID and secret by emailing us at platform@outreach.io.

Getting Started

Once provisioned, you will have access to the API, which was designed to provide broad access for reading and writing across multiple models within the Outreach platform on behalf of a specific user.We currently provide ten endpoints to provide access to sequences, prospects, accounts, salesforce mappings, users data and more. These endpoints can be used to either migrate data between your service and Outreach, or to drive business intelligence models for your sales teams. Some of the most advanced customers of Outreach are using our REST API to cross-pollinate their communication data with external data sets, as well as serving their performance metrics up in dashboards for their leadership teams to consume.

We've put a lot of work into helping our customers access the incredible data they are generating within Outreach, and we hope you get in touch when you get to a place where you can build an integration.
