You may have seen Outreach recently closed a new $50 million fundraising round and hired a new chief financial officer. We're so excited to welcome Melissa Fisher to the Outreach team.

Melissa has more than 20 years of strategic finance experience, and she recently moved to Seattle to lead Outreach's financial operations through our next phase of growth.

Get to know our new CFO in her own words

Hi, Melissa! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m originally from New York, where I was an investment banker for 15 years. I’ve moved to Minneapolis, San Francisco, and now Seattle for professional opportunities. Outside of work, I enjoy working out and going to museums and the ballet.

What drew you to Outreach?

The reasons I joined Outreach can be put into two buckets: product and culture. I’ve always been passionate about sales velocity because it’s critical to a company’s success, and employees in non-sales roles can make an impact by supporting the sales teams and customers. I believe there's a huge opportunity for Outreach because the product delivers mission-critical results, and that's something all customer-facing organizations need. In terms of the culture, I believe the best results come from companies that are both team-oriented and results-oriented because you get the best results working as a team.

You've been on with Outreach for a month — what has been your favorite part so far?

Getting to work with such an engaged group of colleagues who are focused on meaningful value-creation activities.

What's something that surprised you about Outreach?

Some people know this already, but I was surprised to learn the office doesn't have an industrial copier/printer since we print a lot in finance!

What's the best advice you've gotten in your career?

Building relationships is part of the job. It’s easy to get focused on doing your work, but a major part of your success is driven by your relationships with your colleagues.

Have you enjoyed your move to Seattle? Any favorite spots in the city yet?

I've only been in town a week, so it's a little too early to choose, but I look forward to exploring the vibrant arts scene.

Anything else we should know about you?

I strongly believe that support functions should become strategic business partners, and I look forward to enabling our partners’ success.

Thank you for your time today, and welcome to the executive team!
