Today we released an exciting new update for our Gmail inbox integration - API sync! Now, in addition to our existing OAuth and password options, you can connect your Gmail inbox to Outreach directly using the Gmail API. Gmail API sync provides a lightning fast email experience in Outreach and the same strong security options our existing OAuth sync allows for. This new option is our recommended way for you to sync your Gmail account.
This means two important things for you:
- This new experience is lightning fast - with API sync, your gmail account will now sync to Outreach within seconds rather than minutes. This means faster reply detection to save precious seconds contacting your hottest leads and that you’ll always have the most up to date information from your inbox in Outreach. We know you need to work fast, and we’re excited to continue bringing you features that empower you to make every second count - especially those critical first few seconds you need to follow up with hot lead.
- For organizations who have prevented users from connecting to their email client with imap, you now have an alternative way to sync your email account into Outreach. We’re excited to bring Gmail sync to an even wider set of customers and to accommodate email requirements for all organizations.
When you update your user admin settings, you’ll now see all three Gmail sync options here - choose Gmail API for this new and improved mail experience in Outreach.
You’ll proceed to connect your account in exactly the same way you’d connect with OAuth.
